Our office is tucked away on the second floor of a building in Priya Colony, Mehdipatnam. Hyderabad is a fast city, and this neighborhood is no different with all the traffic near the junction. We spend our days managing various properties around the city. It is a lot of back-and-forth on the phone with plumbers, painters, and tenants. The office itself is pretty simple. We have a few wooden desks, some old filing cabinets that don't always close right, and a lot of paper everywhere. We keep track of rents and repairs for owners who don't have the time to do it themselves. The stairs coming up here are a bit narrow, so we tell people to watch their step. We have been in this spot for several years now and have gotten to know the other business owners in the colony. It gets quite warm in the afternoons, so we keep the windows open to catch any breeze from the street. We aren't a huge company with a lot of departments, just a small group of us making sure the buildings are looked after. Sometimes we have to head out suddenly because a pipe burst or a lock broke. That is just how the property business works in a place like this. We usually shut the office by six and head home in the evening rush. It’s hard work but we enjoy being right in the middle of everything.
