Our daily routine at Comsat Systems Pvt. Ltd. happens at 22, I D A in Mallapur. This industrial development area is full of similar buildings, and ours is just another one of those functional spaces where work gets done without much fuss. We have been in Mallapur for a good bit now, and we’ve seen the neighborhood change, but our focus stays on the systems we are putting together. It’s not the kind of place where people wear suits; it is more about rolled-up sleeves and leaning over a piece of hardware until it finally works. The air conditioning struggles a bit in the afternoon heat, so we usually have a few extra fans humming in the corners. There is a small area where we keep the kettle for coffee and tea, which is probably the most used part of the office. We don’t have a big marketing department or anyone to polish our image. We just have a handful of people who understand how these systems are supposed to function. It is a quiet kind of work most of the time, punctuated by the occasional frustration when a bit of software refuses to cooperate. We just keep our heads down and handle the tasks that come in from the various companies we work with.
