We spend most of our time here at 16 2 836/D/4 in Malakpet, just dealing with the daily stuff that comes with running a food place. It gets pretty crowded in this part of Malakpet, especially when the delivery vans are trying to squeeze through the narrow lanes. Usually, we start the day early, around seven, just moving crates around and making sure everything is where it should be. It is not a fancy setup, just some shelves, a desk that has seen better days, and a lot of bags. Sometimes the power goes out and we just sit outside on the steps until it comes back, talking to the guys from the shop next door. People ask how long we have been here and honestly, the years just kind of blur together after a while. You get used to the noise of the traffic and the smell of whatever is being cooked nearby. We do not really have a big sign or anything, but people around here know the address. It is mostly just us doing the work, filling orders, and hoping the rain does not leak through the front door when the monsoon hits hard. There is always a lot of dust that needs sweeping every morning, no matter how many times we clean. We just keep at it, day after day, making sure the inventory is right and the customers get what they came for without too much fuss or waiting around in the heat.
