Leela Palace

If you go to Plot No. 87 and 88 in the Jawahar Rail Colony, you will find us. We call it Leela Palace. It is in Secunderabad, not too far from the main roads but tucked away enough to be a little quieter than the center of town. We aren't a big glass building like you see in the movies. We are just a local place where people stay when they have business in the colony or near the railway station. I spend most of my day sitting near the front desk or checking the rooms to see if they are ready. We have a few staff members who help with the cleaning and the laundry. It's a lot of work keeping up with the sheets and making sure the bathrooms are okay for the next guest. We don't have a fancy website with professional photos or anything like that. What you see when you walk in is what you get. The furniture is a bit older, but it’s sturdy and clean. We like it that way. Most of our guests are regulars who have been coming here for years. They know we have decent tea and the fans work well when it gets hot. Sometimes the neighbors have a function and there is loud music, but mostly it is just the quiet sound of the colony. We live nearby, so if there is a problem at night, someone can get here pretty fast. It’s just a simple life.
