Land-Mark Book Store

The shop is tucked away at 5-5-108/1/B/3 in Manikayamma Colony. We’ve been here in Rajendra Nagar for quite some time now, just surrounded by stacks of books. It’s a quiet enough spot, though the main road isn't too far off. Inside, it’s mostly just wooden shelves that we’ve put up ourselves over the years. Some of them are a bit crooked, but they hold the books just fine. Hyderabad gets really dusty, so we spend a good chunk of every morning wiping down the covers. It’s a never-ending job, honestly. We don’t have any of those fancy computers to track every single page; we mostly just remember where things are. If you ask for something, we usually know which corner it’s sitting in. The fan overhead hums pretty loudly, but you get used to it after an hour or so. We get kids from the colony coming in after school, looking for notebooks or pens, and then some older folks who just want something to read in the afternoon. It’s not a big corporate chain. It’s just a local place where we spend our days. We have a small stool behind the counter where we sit and wait for the next person to walk through the door. Sometimes the light in the back flickers, but we haven't gotten around to fixing it yet. It’s just how the place is. We try to keep things in order but books have a way of getting messy. It's a simple life.
