Jagannath Tiffins

Jagannath Tiffins is our little spot over in Sunder Nagar Colony, right at 7-1-644/38 in the S.R. Nagar area. If you live around here, you probably see us every morning when the steam starts coming off the idli plates. We open up pretty early because people in S.R. Nagar are always on their way to classes or work and they need a quick breakfast. It’s a small place, and it can get pretty crowded around the counter during the peak hours. We don't have a lot of seating, so most people just stand and eat or take their food to go. The kitchen is always moving, with someone flipping dosas or pouring tea. It’s noisy and sometimes a bit chaotic when we have a lot of orders at once, but we manage to get through it. We don't use any fancy recipes, just the same things we've been making for years. The floor might be a bit wet from cleaning, and the walls aren't freshly painted, but the food is hot and that’s what matters. We aren't trying to be a big restaurant chain. We just want to provide a decent meal for a fair price to the people in our neighborhood. It’s hard work standing on your feet all day, but seeing the regulars come back every morning makes it worth the effort for all of us here.
