Guffa

Guffa is located in the Ohris Cuisine Court over in Basheerbagh at 5-9-30/16-20. If you are looking for it, we are right opposite the old Gandhi Medical College. The place is famous mostly because it looks like a cave inside. It is very dark, and we use a lot of artificial rock textures on the walls. People usually come in and poke at the walls to see if they are real. We have these lanterns that give off a dim glow. It can be a bit tricky for the servers to navigate when it’s packed. The chairs are heavy, and the whole vibe is meant to be a bit different from your usual bright restaurant. We get a lot of office workers from the Basheerbagh area during lunch. At night, it’s mostly families. The air conditioning has to work extra hard because there aren't many windows in the cave setup. Our menu has the usual stuff people like to eat in Hyderabad. Sometimes the music is a bit loud, but it fits the theme. We don't have a huge entrance, you just come through the court. It has been around for quite some time now. People know us for the decor more than anything else. It stays cool inside even when the Hyderabad sun is beating down on the street outside. We just keep serving food in the dark.
