Faisal Brick Works

Faisal Brick Works is situated at number 10 on Boothpur Road, which is a fairly loud spot in Mahabubnagar with all the traffic going by at all hours. We have been working this land for a while now, turning raw earth into something people can actually use to put walls up for their homes. It is a simple process, but it takes a lot of patience to get the heat right in the ovens. Sometimes the wind blows the wrong way and we get a face full of smoke, but you get used to that after a few weeks on the job. We don't have any fancy signs or a big reception area; you just walk in and look for someone who isn't covered in too much mud. Most of our days are spent checking the rows of drying bricks to see if they are ready for the fire. If it rains unexpectedly, it is a total scramble to get the covers on before the shapes get ruined. That happened last Tuesday and we were all running around like crazy in the thick mud. Mahabubnagar has a lot of new construction happening, so there is always a truck waiting to be loaded. We try to keep things moving, but we aren't in a massive rush most of the time. We just do the work as it comes, making sure each batch is handled properly before it leaves the yard on the back of a tractor or a big lorry.
