Empire Tours is located over in Saidabad. The door number is 17-2-714/2 in Madanapet. It’s a bit of a maze back here if you aren't from this part of Hyderabad, but we like the neighborhood. We’ve got a small shopfront where we handle all the travel bookings. It’s mostly local people who come in looking for bus tickets or maybe a holiday package for their family. We have a couple of old computers and a lot of brochures that are probably a bit dusty by now. The area is quite traditional, and we’ve been part of it for some time. We don't really do the big corporate travel stuff; it’s more about helping people get their paperwork ready for their trips. You’ll usually see one or two of us sitting behind the counter, probably drinking tea and looking at bus schedules. The office isn't very big, so if three customers come in at once, it feels very crowded. We handle the 500059 area mostly. It’s a lot of manual work, checking availability and calling up operators to see if we can get a seat. Sometimes the power goes out and we just have to wait it out, chatting with whoever is in the shop at the time. It’s a straightforward business. No fancy uniforms or complicated systems, just us trying to make sure the tickets are issued correctly and the dates are right so nobody gets stuck at the station. It is a simple life here in Madanapet and we just keep things moving.
