Derby Family Restaurant

Our restaurant is in the Dhantapalli Chambers at Barkatpura, right below the LIC office. It is a handy spot because we are also right opposite Avanthi College. Because of where we are located, we see a lot of office workers coming in for lunch and then students dropping by later in the afternoon. In the evenings, it changes over to families from the Barkatpura area who want a meal out. The address is Door No 3-4-1005/8, and we have been here in Hyderabad for quite some time. The basement or lower level location keeps it a bit cooler when the sun is hitting the streets outside. We have a team of waiters and kitchen staff who have mostly grown up around here. It is a busy place, especially when the college is in session. We do not go in for anything too flashy. The focus is just on the cooking and making sure people have a place to sit. Sometimes the line for the LIC office upstairs gets long and people end up coming down to us while they wait. We just keep the doors open and the stove going from morning until we close up at night. It is a lot of work keeping a family restaurant running in such a busy part of the city, but we are used to the pace of Barkatpura by now.
