Chat Bhandar

If you go near the Begumpet Railway Station, you will find our Chat Bhandar at 1-11-62/7/C. It’s a small place but it gets very crowded, especially when the trains arrive and people are looking for a quick snack. We spend our whole day standing behind the counter mixing spices and frying up different things. The smell of oil and masala is always in the air here. It isn't a place where you sit down for a long three-course meal. People come here for the taste and they usually stand around eating while they talk. We have a few regular items that everyone asks for, so we keep those ready almost all the time. The kitchen is small and it gets very hot in the afternoons, but we are used to it by now. We don't have a fancy menu card, just the names of the dishes written out where everyone can see them. Sometimes we run out of plates or the water runs low, and we have to scramble to fix it while customers are waiting. Begumpet is a busy part of town and we like being right in the middle of it. It’s nice to see people enjoy a plate of chat before they head off to work or home. We just focus on keeping the flavors consistent and making sure the food is served fresh. It’s a noisy, happy little spot near the station and we stay open until the last crowd leaves.
