Bakers Inn

We run this little bakery in the 500062 area of Hyderabad. It’s called Bakers Inn. We’re usually there pretty early in the morning when it’s still cool outside. The smell of the ovens is the first thing you notice when you walk in. We do a lot of breads and some cakes too. It’s a lot of manual work, getting the dough right and watching the timers. The flour gets everywhere, on our clothes and on the floor. We try to sweep up, but by the end of the day, it’s back again. We have a small counter where we put the fresh stuff out. People from the neighborhood stop by on their way to work or when they’re picking up the kids. We don't have a big marketing team or anything like that. We just make what we know how to make. Sometimes we try a new recipe and it doesn't work out, so we just stick to the basics. The oven is old but it’s reliable. We keep the shop open until the evening or until the shelves are empty. It gets pretty hot in the back with the heat from the baking. We’ve got a small fridge for the milk and butter. It’s just a simple local shop. We know most of our regulars and what they usually like to buy. It’s not fancy, just a place to get something fresh. We hope the biscuits turned out okay today because the humidity was high.
