We spend most of our time around the RTC officers quarters here in Kachiguda. It's a busy spot in Hyderabad, and honestly, things can get pretty loud with all the buses coming in and out of the depot. Most of us have been working for the Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporaton for years now. We live and work in the same area, so you’ll often see us walking around Kj/3 or heading towards the main road to catch a ride ourselves. It’s a lot of management work behind the scenes to keep the transport running across the state. Sometimes the paperwork piles up on the desks and the fans just hum all day while we try to sort out the routes. We know the roads better than anyone else, mostly because we see the schedules day and night. It’s not a fancy office job by any means. There’s always someone coming in with a question about a bus timing or a driver needing a signature on a form. The quarters are old, but they have a lot of history for those of us who have stayed here through different postings. We just try to keep things moving so people can get where they need to go. It’s just how life goes in the RTC. Most days are long, and the tea stall nearby is where we catch a break. We don't really do much advertising because everyone knows the red buses. We’re just here doing the daily work.
