This location is the APSRTC Officers Quarters, specifically Kj 7, near the Kachiguda Railway Station. Being so close to the station means there is always the sound of trains and whistles in the background. It’s a busy part of Hyderabad, and the quarters have been here for a long time. People who work for the road transport corporation live and work around here, so it’s a bit of a community. The buildings are the standard government style, a bit weathered from the sun and rain over the years. We spend a lot of our time dealing with the logistics of the buses and the staff. It’s not a glamorous job, but it’s important for getting people where they need to go. You see the big green and red buses passing by all the time. The office is usually filled with papers and files, and there’s always someone coming in to ask a question or file a report. We don’t have fancy furniture or a modern layout. It’s just desks, old fans, and people who have been with the corporation for decades. Living and working near Kachiguda means you get used to the crowds and the constant movement. It’s a very practical environment. There isn’t much time for anything other than keeping the transport system running as best as it can. It’s just life in the transport department, day in and day out. We usually walk over to the station area if we need to grab a quick snack.
