In Balasore, things move at their own pace, and we are no different. Versatileindustries is located out in Uitikiri, which is a bit of a trek if you aren't from around here. We work out of a space near Puran, and the address is mostly just known by Debashis Patra’s name since he’s the one who got it all going. The pin code is 756029 for anyone sending us letters. It’s a simple setup. We have our tools and our workspace, and that’s about it. There’s no big reception desk or a person in a suit waiting to greet you. Usually, you’ll just find us in the middle of a job, probably covered in a bit of dust or grease depending on the day. The Odisha sun can be pretty unforgiving on the metal roof, so we make sure the fans are always running at full speed. We like being in this part of the district. It’s quiet enough to focus but close enough to the main spots in Balasore when we need supplies. We don’t spend much time on fancy emails or long meetings. We just talk across the room to get things sorted. It’s a practical way to run things, and it works for us. The neighbors are good people, and we all kind of look out for each other. It’s just a normal day-to-day life for the crew here in the village. We like the fact that it isn't too crowded. Sometimes we sit outside for a bit during lunch if there is a breeze.
