Travelticketing

Our little shop is run by R Narayana Naik, the son of Somla Naik. We are located in Nnp Thanda, which is part of Tatrakal in the Vajrakarur area of Anantapur. It is a rural spot in Andhra Pradesh, so things move a bit slower here than in the big cities. We help people get their tickets for the bus or the train so they can go visit family or go for work in other towns. Most people in the village know where to find us. We don't have a computer for every person; it is just a small space with the essentials. The road outside is often dusty, and we have to wipe down the desk a couple of times a day to keep the papers clean. We spend a lot of time explaining the different routes and times to folks who don't travel much. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to wait a bit to finish a booking. It is just part of living in the Thanda. We are glad to be able to help our neighbors get where they need to go without them having to travel all the way to the main town just for a ticket. It is a simple life and a simple business, but it is important for the people around here. We usually close up when the sun goes down because that is when everyone heads home for dinner.
