Travel Mart International

If you are looking for us, we’re over in Owaisi Colony in the Tolichowki part of Hyderabad. We are up on the first floor of Plot No 9-4-87/78. Travel Mart International is basically just a few of us sitting at desks with phones and computers trying to figure out travel routes. It gets pretty cramped sometimes with all the paperwork piled up. People come in wanting to visit family or go on a trip, and we just look through the systems to see what’s available. Tolichowki is a crowded area, so there is always noise from the street coming up through the windows. We spend hours talking to airlines or checking bus schedules. It’s not a glamorous job, but it’s what we do. Sometimes the internet goes slow and we have to apologize to people waiting in the office. We drink a lot of tea to keep going during the afternoon slump. Most of our day is spent typing and making calls. It’s a small operation, nothing like those big corporate offices you see downtown. We know most of the shopkeepers nearby and often grab lunch from the stalls downstairs. The stairs up to the first floor are a bit steep, so we tell people to take their time. We’ve been at this spot for a bit now, just helping neighbors and whoever else walks in get their tickets sorted out without too much fuss.
