This is where the administrative side of things happens, managed by Gowtham Kumar, who is Krishna’s son. Even though the name of the hotel sounds very grand, our daily work environment is actually quite simple. We are not located in the middle of a fancy lobby with marble floors or high ceilings. Instead, we work out of a standard office space with plenty of desks, rolling chairs, and stacks of paper that always need filing. Hyderabad is a fast-paced city, and that reflects in how our days go here. There is always something that needs attention, like a maintenance request or a vendor call. We spend a lot of our time on the phone or staring at computer screens to get things right. We do not have a team of people waiting on us. We mostly handle our own coffee and organize our own files. Sometimes the air conditioner makes a bit of a rattling noise, so we have to give it a tap to make it stop. It is just a normal workplace. During the busy seasons, like when there are many weddings, the office gets a bit chaotic with everyone moving around. We just try to stay on top of the list and get through the day. We eat our lunch at our desks most of the time because there is always so much to do. It is a practical, no-nonsense way of working to keep the larger operation functioning.
