We've been here at the E.C.I.L area in Hyderabad for quite some time now. Dealing with phones and connections is what we do every day. The office isn't anything fancy, just a spot where people come in when they have issues with their signal or need a new SIM card. Usually, the mornings are quiet, then it picks up around lunch. Most of the staff here have lived in this part of the city for years. We know the shortcuts around the E.C.I.L crossroads and where to get the best chai nearby. Sometimes the internet is a bit slow in the office, but we manage. People walk in with all sorts of questions about their bills or why their data isn't working on their old handsets. We just sit at the desks and try to sort it out one by one. It’s a lot of sitting and typing, really. The fans hum overhead all day, and we keep a stack of paper forms by the door because some folks still prefer writing things down by hand. It's just a regular workplace. We don't have a big sign outside that flashes, just the name so people can find us. It gets dusty because of the road construction outside, so we're always wiping down the counters. It is what it is. Just a bunch of us working in Hyderabad, keeping the lines running. We go home when the sun sets and come back the next morning.
