Sarovar Hotels

Working at Sarovar Hotels here in Hyderabad keeps us on our feet all day long. The city is always moving and so are we. It’s a big building but it feels smaller when you know everyone who works in the kitchen and the back offices. We deal with people from all over who are just looking for a place to stay while they do their business or see the sights. The lobby gets crowded in the mornings when everyone is trying to check out at the same time. Sometimes the elevators are a bit slow and we have to explain that to the guests. We spend a lot of time making sure the rooms are tidy and the tea is hot. It’s a lot of routine. Folding towels, checking lists, and answering the same questions about where the best biryani is. The street outside is noisy with all the traffic Hyderabad is known for but inside it stays mostly quiet. We aren't trying to be anything other than a decent place to rest. Our staff stays late quite often because that’s just the nature of the job. You get used to the rhythm of the city after a while. We don't have a lot of fancy speeches. We just show up, put on the uniform, and get to work. It’s a practical way to earn a living and we take it one day at a time. It’s not always easy but it is what we do.
