About Safety Officer – Tourism in Hyderabad/ Secunderabad
I’m a safety officer based here in Hyderabad. I don’t really have a fixed office building because my work takes me all over the city. Every day is different. I might be at a tall construction site in the morning and then at a small manufacturing unit in the afternoon. My whole job is just looking out for things that could go wrong. I check if people are wearing their boots and if the scaffolding is sturdy enough. It’s not about being a boss; it’s just about making sure everyone goes home safe at the end of their shift. Hyderabad is a massive city and there’s always something being built or moved. I spend a lot of time on the road, stuck in traffic like everyone else. I keep my notebook and my camera with me to document what I see. Some workers don’t like it when I point out their mistakes, but I just explain it’s for their own good. I’ve been doing this for a few years now. I learned everything on the job. It’s honest, practical work. I don't use big words or fancy reports. I just tell the site managers what needs to be fixed right then and there. It’s a bit of a lonely job sometimes, always being the one to find faults, but it's what I do. I usually grab a quick lunch at a roadside stall and then move on to the next site. By the time I get home, I'm pretty tired, but it's okay.
