Ramoji Film City

We spend our days out here at the quarters, specifically number 1010, which is part of the Ramoji Film City setup. It’s located in Ukhanguda, near Shanginagar, quite a bit away from the main bustle of Hyderabad 501511. Living and working out here is different from being in the city. You see the big sets and the tourists in the distance, but our reality is more about the day-to-day maintenance and the tasks that keep the place running behind the scenes. The heat in this part of Telangana can get really intense, especially in the afternoons when the sun is beating down on the quarters. We have a lot of walking to do between the different areas, so everyone usually has a bottle of water and a hat. It feels like a small town within itself because everything is contained here. The 1010 quarters are just our temporary base where we handle the logistics and the boring stuff like scheduling and lists. Sometimes you forget you’re at a famous film site because you’re just looking at a computer screen or talking to the same few coworkers. It's a long commute if you don't stay on site, so many of us are here most of the time. The nights are surprisingly quiet compared to the noise of the city. We just keep things moving, making sure the basic stuff is taken care of so the larger production can happen elsewhere. It's a simple life out here.
