Ramoji Film City

You can find us at Ms. Archana Gautam’s place over in Huda Sai Nagar, Sushma, here in Hyderabad. Most people think of the big studios when they hear Ramoji Film City, but this is more of a local point for us. It’s a residential area, so it’s much quieter than the actual film sets. We deal with a lot of the coordination work from here. It’s basically a house that serves as an office, which makes the whole thing feel a bit more relaxed than a corporate headquarters. There’s a small garden out front that we try to keep alive, though the Hyderabad sun is pretty brutal in the summer. We have a few computers and a lot of notebooks scattered around. Archana is usually around handling the local side of things. It’s a lot of phone calls and checking schedules to make sure everything is lined up for the productions. People from the neighborhood sometimes peak in to see if any famous actors are around, but it’s mostly just us doing paperwork. The tea here is actually pretty good because we make it ourselves in the small kitchen in the back. It’s a nice change of pace from the chaos of the main film city. We like being tucked away in Sai Nagar where we can actually hear ourselves think while we work. It is a practical way to manage things without all the noise.
