Even though the big planes are miles away, we have this spot for Rajiv Ghandhi International Airport over in Moghul Pura. We’re located right in the Charminar area of Hyderabad, which is a very old and busy part of the city. It’s a small office tucked away among the shops and historic buildings. Working here is quite different from being at the main airport terminal. It’s much more connected to the heart of the city. We spend our time helping people with information, maybe sorting out some logistics or paperwork that doesn't need to be done at the actual runways. The office is pretty tight on space, with just enough room for a few of us and a couple of visitors. It’s always noisy outside because of the Charminar crowds, but we’re used to it by now. We don't have those shiny floors or high ceilings you see at the main airport; it’s just a regular room with some desks and a couple of chairs. We drink a lot of tea and talk to a lot of locals who are heading out or coming back home. It’s a very practical little outpost for us. Being in Moghul Pura means we see the real side of Hyderabad every day while we do our jobs. It’s not glamorous, but it’s an important link for the people living in this part of town who need airport-related help. We just take it one day at a time and do what's needed.
