Ohris Banjara

Ohris Banjara is located out in the village and post office of Jatra. If you are coming our way, you have to go via Hetampur, specifically the Rajbati area. We are in the Birbhum district of West Bengal, with the pin code 731124. It’s a rural setting, very different from the cities. The office is just a small building we’ve used for years. It’s quiet and surrounded by a lot of green space. We don’t have much in the way of fancy equipment. We rely on the basics to get our work done. Most of us live nearby, so the walk to work is short. We know everyone in Jatra. It’s a place where people stop to chat. Ohris Banjara is just part of the local scenery here. We don't have a big corporate structure. It’s just us doing what we’ve always done. Sometimes the electricity goes out and we just wait it out or work by the windows. It’s a simple existence. We handle our business without making much of a fuss. The Rajbati area has a lot of history, which is nice. We feel connected to the land here. It’s a bit dusty in the summer and muddy in the monsoon, but that’s just how Birbhum is. We’re satisfied with our little spot. It's just a regular workday for us in West Bengal. We take things as they come, one morning at a time here in Jatra.
