National Aviation Co. Ltd. (Formerly Indian Airlines Ltd.)

This is the office for National Aviation Co. Ltd. inside Akashdeep Apartments. Some people still call it Indian Airlines Ltd. because that’s what it was for a long time. We are on the third floor, room 302. It’s an old building, Shyamlal Buildings, in the Begumpet area. The elevator is one of those old ones that creaks a lot, so a lot of us just take the stairs if we aren't carrying heavy files. The office has a lot of paper. There are stacks on almost every desk. It’s not a modern glass building like the ones you see in the new parts of Hyderabad. It feels lived in. We handle a lot of the administrative side of things here. You can hear the sounds of the street from the windows if they are left open, but the traffic in Begumpet is usually so loud we have to keep them shut. Most of the staff has been here for years. We know where every file is hidden, even if it looks like a mess to an outsider. We have a small tea station in the corner where everyone gathers around noon. It’s a pretty quiet routine. We don't have big signs outside or anything like that. Just a small plate on the door. It’s a practical place for doing work. We just show up, do the paperwork, and go home.
