Muslim Maternity Hospital

Over in Hyderabad, we have the Muslim Maternity Hospital. It’s been a part of the community for a long time. Hospitals are always busy places, but a maternity hospital has a different kind of energy compared to a general clinic. There’s a lot of waiting around in the halls by nervous fathers and happy grandparents, and then a lot of excitement when a new baby finally arrives in the ward. The building is older and has seen a lot of families come through its doors over the years. We don’t have those high-tech robots or anything like that; it’s just doctors, nurses, and ward staff doing their jobs every single day. We spend a lot of time cleaning floors and making sure the beds have fresh, clean sheets for the new mothers. It’s a lot of noise sometimes, with babies crying and people talking in the corridors, but it’s a good kind of busy. The staff works in shifts, so there is always someone around, even in the middle of the night when the rest of the city is mostly quiet. We are located right in the heart of Hyderabad, so it’s easy for people to reach us by rickshaw or bus from any part of town. We don't use fancy medical jargon when we talk to the families; we just tell them what’s happening in plain words. It’s a place where life starts, and we just try to keep things safe and simple.
