Out here in Bhanoor, things move a bit slower than they do in the middle of Hyderabad. I’m the Resident Manager here at Lahariresorts.Hyderabad, and my days are spent mostly walking around the grounds or sitting in the office near the Medak District line. The pin code is 502 305, which is quite a way out for some people, but we like the space. It’s quiet, except for when we have a full house and the kids are splashing around. Managing a resort isn't always about the fun stuff; there’s a lot of checking on pipes, making sure the grass is cut, and talking to the staff about the kitchen supplies. We’ve been here in the Medak area for a long time, and you get to know the weather patterns pretty well. The summers are tough, but the monsoon makes everything green and beautiful for a few months. I live on-site, so the line between work and home is pretty thin. Sometimes someone knocks on my door late at night because they lost their room key or the AC stopped working. It’s just part of the deal. We don't use big fancy words to describe what we do. It’s just a place for people to stay while they’re away from the city. We keep the place running, try to fix things when they break, and hope the electricity stays on during the storms. I spend quite a bit of time checking the perimeter fence too. There’s always some small thing that needs fixing.
