Thiruvanmiyur is a busy part of Chennai, and our place on 3rd Cross Street in Rajasrinivasanager is right in the middle of it all. If you’ve ever walked down toward No63, you’ve probably seen us. It’s a medical center, but it doesn't feel like those giant, cold hospitals you see in the city center. We try to keep things simple and functional. The waiting room has some magazines that are probably too old, and the chairs are sturdy enough for a long wait. We see a lot of people from the neighborhood coming in for their regular checkups or when they’ve caught a cold. The humidity in Chennai is no joke, especially in the afternoons, so we try to keep the place cool for everyone sitting in the lobby. Being in Tamil Nadu, we get all sorts of folks, and most of them just want to be heard and taken care of without a lot of fuss or expensive tests. The staff here has been around for years, so we know most of the families who live nearby. It’s a quiet street compared to the main roads, which is a relief when you aren’t feeling well. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to switch to the generator, but we manage to keep the lights on. It’s just a regular clinic where we do our best to help out with whatever comes through the door. No fancy machines that beep for no reason, just a practical setup for the community here in Chennai-41.
