K.F.C .(Yum Restaurants International)

This is the spot on Swami Vivekananda Street in Avulamanda. T.V. Saiprasad is the name you’ll see associated with House No 3-1-148. It’s part of the K.F.C .(Yum Restaurants International) network, but to us, it feels more like a local kitchen most of the time. Sec-500003 is where we spend the majority of our hours every week. It’s a busy street with people always walking by and looking in the windows. We handle a lot of the food prep and the daily grind of running a place like this. The kitchen stays pretty hot, especially during the lunch rush when the orders start piling up. We have a lot of stainless steel counters that we’re constantly scrubbing to keep them clean. It’s not all glamorous like you see in the commercials on TV. There’s a lot of floor mopping and checking the inventory in the back room. Sometimes the deliveries are a bit late and we have to scramble to get everything ready. We get all kinds of people coming through the doors here. Some are in a huge hurry and some just want to sit and rest for a bit. We don't have a big corporate office with carpets here. It’s just the store and the work rooms. We share stories while we work and it really keeps the day going. The noise from the street is always there in the background. It is a hard job but it’s honest work.
