Living and working near Jamia Masjid in Gulbarga has its own rhythm. We are tucked into Mouzan Galli, which is one of those narrow streets where you have to be careful how you walk or park your bike. It's noisy, sure, but there's a lot of life here. Being in Karnataka, specifically this part of Gulbarga, means dealing with a lot of different people every day. Our office isn't anything special to look at. It's just a room with some desks and a lot of maps and old ledgers. We spend most of our time on the phone or talking to folks who wander in from the masjid area. Sometimes the electricity goes out and we just sit there in the dark for a bit, chatting. It gets dusty because of the wind and the traffic, so we are always wiping down the tables. The 585307 area is busy, especially on Fridays. You can hear the calls to prayer and the sound of the market nearby. It’s a practical setup. We don't need much. Just a working phone and a place to sit. Most of our neighbors have been here as long as we have. We know the tea seller at the corner and the guy who fixes the cycles. It’s just a small business trying to keep up with everything in this old part of town, dealing with travel plans one person at a time.
