Icici Bank Ltd

It’s pretty busy here at Plot 3-7-62/197 in Hyderabad. We’ve been running Icici Bank Ltd from this spot for a while now. Most days start with the sound of the shutters going up and the local tea stall guy bringing the first round of chai. It gets hot early in Andhra Pradesh, so the fans are always going. People come in with all sorts of things to sort out, from simple passbook updates to more complicated money stuff that takes all afternoon. We have a few desks that wobble if you lean on them too hard, and the floor tile near the entrance is slightly cracked, but it works for us. We just focus on getting through the stack of papers on the desks. Sometimes the internet is slow and we all just sit there staring at the screens for a bit until it kicks back in. Our office isn’t anything fancy like those glass towers you see in the movies. It’s just a place where we sit, talk to the locals, and try to make sure everything adds up at the end of the day. You can hear the traffic from the street outside all day long. It's just a regular group of us working here, trying to keep things moving. We don’t have any big speeches to give. We just know the people who live around here and we help them with their banking whenever they walk through the door.
