Being in Ameen Colony means we are in a part of the city that has a lot of history and local life. The hotel is a decent-sized building and we spend all our time making sure things are running the way they should. It’s a lot of walking up and down stairs and checking on the rooms. We don't have a huge corporate office; we just have our front desk and the back rooms where we keep the supplies. The staff here are mostly local people who know the Saidabad area well. It gets very busy during the wedding seasons or when there are local festivals, and then it gets a bit quieter during the off-months. We don't use any fancy language to describe ourselves because we are just a hotel trying to provide a place to sleep. The streets outside can be narrow and crowded with scooters and autos, which is just part of living and working in Hyderabad. We have been here for a while now and we know how to handle the daily issues, like when the laundry is late or a pipe needs fixing. It’s a very hands-on kind of job. We just show up every day and do what needs to be done for the guests without making a big deal out of it.
