Hostess In A Hotel

Working over here at Prem Nagar in Banjara Hills is always an experience. We are located at 6-3-198/4, and if you know Hyderabad, you know this area is always moving. My role is basically being a hostess, so I spend a lot of my time on my feet, greeting people and making sure they know where they are going. It’s a hotel environment, which means the hours can be pretty long and unpredictable. Some days it is really crowded with guests from all over, and other days it’s just the regulars coming in. It’s not always glamorous like people think. There’s a lot of tidying up and handling small complaints or requests that come up out of nowhere. I’ve learned to stay patient and just handle things as they happen. The building is right in the mix of everything in Banjara Hills, so there’s always noise and traffic outside. Inside, we try to keep things orderly. It’s a practical job that requires a lot of patience. I don’t think about it as a career path with big titles, it’s just what I do to help keep the place running and make sure the guests aren't lost or unhappy. It’s just honest work in a busy city.
