About Govt.Of India – Tourism in Hyderabad/ Secunderabad
This office is tucked away in the Welcome Court Apartments, specifically unit 314, right above the bank in Tarnaka. Being a government setup, things follow a very specific rhythm. We have a lot of files. Most of the space is taken up by cabinets and stacks of papers that have been here since before I started. It is a Secunderabad office, so we get a lot of local traffic. The building itself is older, and you have to use the lift that occasionally stops a few inches above the floor level. We are not here to impress anyone with the furniture. It is mostly just metal desks and those spinning chairs that squeak when you move. We spend the day processing requests, answering the phone, and making sure the stamps are in the right places. It gets a bit stuffy in the afternoons, so we keep the windows open even if the noise from the street comes in. The tea guy comes around twice a day, which is the highlight for most of us. We work through the pile of tasks and then go home. It is not a glamorous job, but it is necessary. You find us here from ten to five, every weekday. It is just how the system works in this corner of the city. We keep the fans running and try to stay on top of the paperwork as best as we can. There is always more to do tomorrow.
