Down here in Hyderabad, specifically around the Sameer Khan area, you’ll find our bike shop, Firefoxbikes(Pvt.Ltd). It’s not a fancy place, just a regular spot where we spend most of our mornings unloading crates and checking tire pressures. The air gets pretty thick with the humidity in Andhra Pradesh, but we keep the fans going and just get on with it. We’ve been at this same address for a while now, and the neighbors know us as the guys who are always covered in a bit of grease. Sometimes the shipments arrive late, and we have to shuffle things around in the back room to make space, which is always a bit of a mess. We don’t have a big corporate office or anything like that. It’s mostly just us sitting on plastic chairs, drinking tea between customers, and making sure the chains are oiled properly on the mountain bikes. People stop by to ask for directions as much as they do to look at the frames. We keep things simple because that’s what works for us in this heat. The shop floor is usually a bit crowded with boxes, and the floor could probably use a good scrub more often than it gets one, but it’s a working space. We handle the paperwork on an old desk that wobbles if you lean on it too hard. It’s just how things are here in the 500-064 zip code, keeping busy and staying out of the sun when we can.
