Collection Boy

It’s pretty hot in Barkathpura today. We are sitting here at 3-4-888 Uppersathyanagar and the fan is making a bit of a clicking sound. This place, Collection Boy, is where we spend most of our daylight hours. The street outside gets busy around noon when people are heading out for lunch. We’ve been at this address for a bit now, and you get used to the sounds of the neighborhood. There is a small shop nearby where we usually get tea. The stairs up to our spot are a little narrow, but they do the job. Sometimes the mail gets mixed up with the neighbor's because the numbering around here is a bit confusing for new delivery guys. We just hand it over when we see them. It's not a fancy office or anything like that. Just some desks, a few chairs, and the paperwork we deal with every day. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, maybe a light blue or something neutral, but for now, it's fine. My desk is near the window, so I watch the traffic on the main road when things get slow. It’s just us here, working through whatever is on the desk. Uppersathyanagar has its own rhythm, and we are just a small part of it. Nothing too complicated, really. We just show up, do what needs to be done, and head home when the sun goes down. The street lights come on one by one, and that’s our signal to lock up.
