We are based in Ameen Colony which is in the Saidabad part of Hyderabad. It is mostly a residential area, so it stays a little quieter than the busy main roads. Our office is a very simple place where we manage the local side of things for the transport corporation. There isn't a big sign out front, just a plain gate and a small concrete building. We have some basic chairs for visitors and a few old wooden desks for the staff. The walls are a bit stained and could use some paint, but we never seem to find the time. Most of our day is spent checking bus schedules and talking to the drivers when they finish their routes. It can get quite dusty in the summer months when the wind blows through the colony streets. We have a small dirt yard where we park a couple of vehicles when they aren't being used. It is not a high-tech operation at all. We still use a lot of paper logs and pens to keep track of everything. The people who work here have been around for many years and we are like a small family. We know the neighbors and often chat with them over the fence. We usually bring our lunch from home and eat together in the afternoon when things slow down. It’s a steady job and we just keep things running. No one really complains about the simple setup we have here.
