Airtel Callcenter

This call center is tucked away in New Mothi Nagar, right near the railway station here in Mahabubnagar. If you’re walking from the station, it’s not a very long walk to get to our door at 1-1-9/I/24/B. We spend most of our time on headsets talking to people from all over the place. It’s a busy place, always with the sound of voices and typing in the background. The building is just a standard one for this part of India, nothing special to look at. We’ve got the 509001 pin code for our mail and deliveries. Sometimes the internet connection is slow or the power cuts out unexpectedly, and we just have to sit and wait it out. It isn't exactly a glamorous job, but it's what we do to keep things moving. We help people with their phone issues and billing questions all day long. The area gets really crowded because of the trains, so there’s always something happening right outside our window. We have a small break room in the back where we eat our lunch and have coffee. Some of us have been working here for years, while others just started a few weeks ago. We don't have a big corporate feel at all; it’s more like a group of locals trying to help customers. The desks are a bit cramped and the chairs have seen better days. It's a real place with real people working hard. We try to keep up with the calls as they come in. It’s just how things go in a place like this near the station.
