We spend most of our time down here in Dhanhat Badkulla working with the local farming groups. It started because a few of us realized that farmers needed a way to talk to each other and handle common problems without getting stuck in big office red tape. Our office is right here in Badkulla, and it's mostly filled with paperwork and people coming in to ask about crop issues or how to get their producer companies running better. We aren't a big corporation. Most of the people involved are just folks from the area who know what it's like to work the land. Sometimes the weather doesn't help and sometimes the prices aren't right, so we try to look out for each other. It’s a lot of meetings and trying to coordinate things between different districts. You can usually find someone here during the day, though we might be out in the fields or visiting another group nearby. We don't have a fancy website or a big marketing team. It’s just about making sure the farmer producer companies around here have a voice and someone to turn to when things get complicated. If you're looking for us, we are right by the post office area. We handle a lot of the practical stuff that keeps these small companies going, like sorting out memberships or just figuring out the logistics of selling what we grow. It’s honest work and it keeps us busy from morning until late evening.
