Our office for Annadhatri Agrisolution Private Limited is near the rail crossing in Arambagh. It is at Shashanka Roy’s place in Ward Number 17. If you’ve spent any time in Hooghly, you know how busy it gets near the tracks when the trains are coming through. We can hear the whistles from the desk all day long. It isn't a fancy office with air conditioning or anything like that. We just have some tables and chairs where we sit to figure out the farm stuff. People stop by to talk about their soil or what seeds are working this season. We don't have a shiny sign out front, just a regular door that stays open most of the time. The tea stall nearby is where we usually end up talking shop with the neighbors. Working in Arambagh means we see a lot of people coming in from the surrounding villages. Sometimes the dust from the road gets inside, so we spend a lot of time wiping down the ledger books. Shashanka is usually around if you need to ask about something specific. We don't use big words to describe what we do. It’s just about getting the right things to the people who grow the food. The rail crossing can be a bit of a wait, but once you’re here, it’s just a normal workplace with normal people doing their jobs. We mostly just keep track of the agricultural supplies and help out where we can with the daily logs.
