If you go to Nandapur in Qutubpur, you will find us at Ashtvinayak Agro Farmers Producer Company Limited. We are a small group of farmers who live right around here. We decided to put our names together so we could have a bit more say in what happens with our produce. The area is mostly quiet, filled with fields and a few narrow paths. We meet up often to talk about the price of diesel or which seeds are working better this year. It’s not a formal thing with suits and ties. Usually, we are just in our work clothes, maybe sitting on a bench outside. We deal with the usual farm stuff—pests, rain, and the middleman at the market. By working together, we feel a bit more prepared for whatever happens. Some of us have cows too, so there is always talk about fodder and milk. The paperwork for the company is a bit of a headache, but we manage it slowly. We are just trying to get by and maybe make things a little easier for our kids. There is nothing special about what we do, it is just honest work under the sun. We know every corner of these fields. It’s where we belong and where we work every single day. We don't expect things to be easy, we just keep moving.
