Khanakul Agro Farmers Producer Companylimited is based in the village of Atghara. Khanakul is known for having a lot of water. Sometimes it is too much water, and the fields get flooded out. We have to be ready for just about anything here. Our group is based in Atghara, and we mostly focus on the crops that can handle the Hooghly weather. It is a busy place during the sowing season. You will see everyone out in the fields from sunrise until the sun goes down. We meet at the office in Kaiba to figure out the logistics and who is taking the produce to the market each day. It is a humble setup, just some wooden chairs and a table. We do not spend money on decorations or anything like that. We would much rather put that money back into the seeds or the tools we use. The people in our company are all from around here, so we have known each other for many years. We know who is good with the machines and who knows the soil the best. It is a lot of cooperation between families. When the harvest is good, the whole village feels the benefit. When it is bad, we all hunker down together and wait. That is the way it is in Khanakul. We do not need any big mission statements. We just need to work.
