Shri Nokhwal Public School

Our school is over in Phakkan village, which is part of the Sirsa district here in Haryana. If you are looking for us, you just head to the VPO area. It is a local place and most of the people who work here grew up around these parts or at least nearby. We have a simple setup with rooms for the different classes. The walls have some drawings on them from the students. We do not have anything too high-tech, just the basic desks and boards that get the job done. Every morning the kids arrive, some on cycles and some walking through the village lanes. It gets quite dusty in the summer months so we are always sweeping the floors. We have a small yard where they play during the interval. You can hear the cows and the tractors from the nearby farms while we are in class. It is just the way life is in a rural area like this. We handle the paperwork in a small office near the front door. Sometimes parents stop by to talk about how their kids are doing or just to say hello. We try to keep a routine going so everyone knows what to expect. When the school day ends, the village gets quiet again for a bit. We are just a part of the community here in Phakkan, doing what needs to be done for the local families and their children every day.
