If you head down Bagla Road in Hissar, you’ll come across our place. It’s a fairly large building with plenty of windows that look out over the street. The area can get quite busy, especially in the mornings when everyone is heading to work. We have a decent-sized gate and a security guard who has been with us for a long time. Inside, the floors are usually shiny from the morning cleaning, at least until the students arrive and bring in the dirt from outside. We have a lot of classrooms, each one filled with the sounds of shuffling papers and teachers talking. Hissar gets really cold in the winter and very hot in the summer, so we are always adjusting the fans or telling the kids to keep their coats on. The library is a quiet corner where the books are a bit dusty, but they get used a lot. We don't have a lot of corporate polish here; it feels more like a lived-in space. The walls have some marks where chairs have bumped into them over the years. We spend our days following the schedule and making sure the lunch break doesn't go on for too long. It’s a practical environment. We focus on the basics and try to keep things running smoothly without too much fuss. It is just a regular school day for us, year after year, right here on Bagla Road. We just keep going.
