Golden Oil Seeds Farmer Producer Company Limited is basically just a bunch of us from around Pillukhera Mandisafidon who decided to pool our resources. We run things out of Ramlakhan’s place. It’s easier than everyone trying to do everything alone. Jind gets pretty hot, and the oil seeds need a bit of attention when they’re growing. We spend most of our time out in the fields or over at the mandi. There’s always something that needs fixing or a bag that needs moving. We don't have a big marketing department or anything like that. It’s just us. Sometimes we sit around and talk about the prices or how the soil is looking this year. It's not always easy, but it beats the alternative. We’ve all seen good years and lean years. Staying together as a group helps when things get tough. We just focus on the seeds and making sure everyone gets their fair share of the work done. You won't find anything fancy if you visit. It's just a practical setup for local farmers. We know the land and we know each other. Most of our families have lived here for generations. We just want to keep things moving forward. It’s hard work, but it’s our work. We take it one day at a time and try to keep the wheels turning.
