Haryanvi Kissan Producer Company Limited is a place where we bring the local farmers together. This part of the country is a tough place to farm sometimes, so we figured we would be stronger if we worked as a team instead of alone. Our building is pretty basic. It’s a functional space where we can store some things and keep our accounts in order. We don't have any fancy furniture or air conditioning that works all the time. We just have desks and a lot of passion for what we do. The farmers come in with their problems and we try to find solutions that make sense for everyone. It’s a lot of talking and listening. The highway brings a lot of people through, but we focus on the kissans who live around here. We handle the logistics of getting the crops to the right places. It’s a lot of long hours and sometimes the stress of the market can get to you, but we keep showing up because the work needs doing.
