Over here at house 678 in Jewra village, things are usually pretty busy with the harvest. We deal mostly with fruits and vegetables, which as anyone around Hisar knows, is a lot of work. You can't just leave things sitting around. We started this producer company because a few of us in the village felt it was time to work closer together. It’s not some corporate setup with people in suits. We are just the folks you see out in the fields every morning. Jewra is a quiet place for the most part, but when it’s time to pick the crops, everyone is moving. We handle the sorting and the selling part as a group now. It saves us a bit of trouble compared to how we used to do it. The weather in this part of the country can be tough on the greens, but we manage. We aren’t looking to be the biggest company out there. We just want to make sure our produce gets to where it needs to go without too many problems. Most days you can find us near the village center or checking on the rows of plants. It’s practical work. Sometimes the market prices are frustrating, but that is part of the life we chose here. We just stay focused on what’s growing and try to help each other out.
