Sukrut Agro Farmers Producer Companylimited

Our group is based out of Hathras, specifically in the Gajua area of Hatisha. Sukrut Agro Farmers Producer Companylimited is basically just a bunch of us farmers who decided to get together to handle our business better. It started with a few conversations over tea about how hard it was to get things to market on our own. Now, we share the load. It’s a lot of coordination between the different families in the village. Some days are spent looking at the accounts and other days we are out there loading up trucks. We don’t have a big fancy office or anything like that. We usually meet up at one of the houses or out in the field to talk about what crops we’re focusing on this season. The weather around Hatisha can be tough, so we have to watch the rain clouds pretty closely. We’ve had some good years and some lean ones too. It’s just the nature of working with the earth. Everyone brings something different to the table, whether it’s knowledge about seeds or just being good with the machinery. We try to keep things simple and honest. There’s no big secret to what we do, just a lot of hours and making sure we don’t waste any of the harvest. It’s hard work, but being part of a group makes it a bit easier to handle the daily stress. We’re just trying to make a living here like everyone else in the village.
