Dwarikapuri Agro Farmer Producer Company Limited is based in Dwarikapur village. That is over in the Sasni part of Hathras. If you are looking for us, we are at R K Sharma’s place. It is a rural area where everyone knows everyone else. Farming is the main thing people do here. We grow whatever the season allows, mostly local crops. Being a farmer producer company sounds very official, but really we are just a bunch of neighbors. We got tired of the middle men taking all the profit, so we organized ourselves. It is not always easy because everyone has their own opinion about how to do things. We have meetings that go on for hours under the shade of a tree. We talk about the soil in Mahamaya Nagar and how the weather is changing. The dirt here is good, but you have to work it right. We do not have a big budget for advertising or anything like that. We just rely on our hands and our knowledge of the land. Sometimes the electricity goes out for hours and we cannot get the pumps running. That is just part of the job in Hathras. We are just trying to get by and maybe make things a little easier for the next generation. It is a simple life, focused on the harvest and the seasons. We just keep our heads down and do the work that needs doing every day.
